Bantracht is an entertaining new series which captures the highs and lows of motherhood and family life through the eyes of two friends with young children, Méabh Nic Alastair & Milène Fegan.

The first episode will be broadcast on Mother’s Day, Sunday 19 March at 7pm on Raidió Fáilte and will air weekly for 10 weeks. It will be available to download on Soundcloud on a weekly basis from Sunday 2 April.

Presented by two friends whose friendship blossomed before their children did, Méabh Nic Alastair and Milène Fegan, they discuss their own experiences as parents throughout the series. Both are honest, direct and sharp women, with no hesitation in talking about the most important things in life and they don’t always necessarily agree on those things. Nothing is off the record in this series.

Méabh and Milène will cover a broad spectrum of subjects, both serious and light-hearted, but always balancing the light with the shade. They talk openly about the ups and downs of family life. This is an opportunity to highlight all the stages of parenthood, e.g. pregnancy, parenting infants, dealing with toddlers, kids going to school and everything in between.

Special guests on the series include singer-songwriter Bernadette Morris, broadcaster Caoimhe Ní Chathail, yoga teacher Nuala Ní Scolláin, campaigner Mairtín Mac Gabhann, among many others.

Bantracht is a Macha Media production for Raidió Fáilte which received support from the Irish Language Broadcast Fund, NI Screen. It was recorded and edited with the Raidió Fáilte team, Antaine Ó Donnaile was the executive producer and it was co-produced and co-presented by Milène Fegan and Méabh Nic Alastair.
