Gaeilge ar an Raidió (Irish on the Radio) is an upcoming free short-course for those who wish to improve their Irish language skills

The Irish language classes will be held in the Raidió Fáilte offices on Divis Street in Belfast as part of Féile an Phobail and Féile Lúnasa Raidió Fáilte.

The classes are completely free of charge and are focused on vocabulary and turns of phrase which are commonly encountered on Irish language radio broadcasts, including programmes on Raidió Fáilte. The course has been tailored for those who are learning Irish or for those who just want to improve the language skills they already have.

The course starts on Monday 8th August in the Raidió Fáilte offices at 30 Divis Street at 10 o’clock. There will be two sessions each day and each session will last one hour. The course will end every day at noon (12:00).

The course will cover the following elements:

  • Monday: Intreoir don Raidió Gaeilge (An Introduction to Irish Language Radio) and Téarmaíocht Ghaeilge don Raidió (Irish language Terminology for the Radio)
  • Tuesday: Guth an Phobail – Ag Ullmhú Cláir (Preparing for a Show) and Ceol, Caint agus Agallaimh ar an Raidió (Music, Talk and Interviews on the Radio)
