Gearóid has been broadcasting with Raidió Fáilte from the time the station began broadcasting in 2006. He was heavily involved in the establishment of the first Irish language radio station in Belfast – a station located in the High School, in the 1980s on the Falls Road.

In 2006, the same year that Raidió Fáilte received the license, Gearóid was unfortunate and had a bad stroke. Nevertheless, once Gearóid had recovered, he returned to broadcasting with Raidió Fáilte. Every Friday he presents a live program between 3 and 4, Beo go Deo, where the music from Elvis Presley can be heard from start to finish. As his listeners from far and wide all know, Gearóid has a special passion for the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, Elvis Presley, and is an expert on every aspect of the musician’s life.
